English at Work survey - digital presentation

In 2016 Cambridge English and QS conducted the first global, cross-industry overview of English language skills at work. The English at Work findings are based on data from over 5,000 employers in 38 countries that completed the annual QS Global Employer Survey, as well as insights from Cambridge English experts.

Isle were appointed to plan, design and build an interactive, mobile friendly website to present this data online. Working closely with data journalists from Cambridge English we produced a flexible web database of the key survey results for seven different questions. This database was then connected to Google Charts and Google Maps to produce a highly interactive interface. Website visitors are able to choose and compare the data from up-to-two different countries. These countries can then also be compared against the global average. In addition to country-by-country analysis it is also possible to filter by industry sector and size of business.

Our teams provided the following services on this project:

  • UX / creative planning
  • UX design
  • HTML 5 development
  • CSS3 development
  • Javascript development
  • Database development
  • Content management
  • Google Maps integration
  • Google Charts integration
  • Agile project management

Working closely with the client based in Cambridge the new site was designed, built, tested and launched within 3 months. Our team worked in a fully Agile way and was in constant communication with the client throughout the project which ensured it was delivered on-time and on-budget.
